Scientists Now Listening for Whales in New York Waters With Real-time Acoustic Buoy

WHOI and WCS have deployed a real-time acoustic buoy in New York Bight to monitor endangered whales like humpbacks and right whales. The buoy detects whale sounds and transmits data to aid conservation in busy shipping lanes near New York Harbor.
