ONC’s deep sea observatory supporting ocean-based carbon dioxide removal research

Ocean Networks Canada and Running Tide have deployed Canada’s first marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) experiment. Using Carbon Buoys and kelp at deep-sea observatories, the project will study how biomass stores CO₂ and impacts seafloor ecosystems.
