2019 Underwater Gliders Successfully Recovered

As the 2019 hurricane season ended, six NOAA AOML underwater gliders were recovered from the Caribbean and Atlantic. These gliders collected key ocean data to improve hurricane forecasts and will be prepared for redeployment next season.

CARICOOS staff received hands-on training from NOAA-AOML on refurbishing underwater gliders, which will be used in the upcoming hurricane season to gather data for improving hurricane intensity forecasts.
