Seismic recordings from Neumayer Station revealed harmonic tremors caused by iceberg B-09A, not volcanoes. These "singing icebergs" mimic volcanic tremors and could help scientists better understand volcanic activity through simpler iceberg models.

Winged snails on a one-year diet

Clione limacina, the Arctic winged snail, survives year-long starvation using slow-metabolizing ether lipids and by shrinking its body. It also uses unique chemicals to deter predators. Ocean acidification now threatens its food source and survival.
