ISO 14001 certification

Fugro GEOS UK was awarded the British Safety Institute’s (BSI) BS EN ISO 14001 certification for complying with the requirements for an environmental management system (EMS). The company has adopted a framework to control the environmental impacts of its activities, products and services, and aims to continually improve its environmental performance. This applies to those environmental aspects which the company and its staff can control, and over which it can influence.

In taking such control, Fugro GEOS has implemented initiatives to encourage its staff to lower their carbon footprint, by introducing a Green Travel Plan – a proposal of practical measures aimed at promoting sustainable travel to staff with an emphasis on reducing reliance on single occupancy car travel and the impact it has on the wider environment.
Implementing Cycle Schemes and bike facilities, encouraging liftshare practices, and transporting staff to rail stations are just some of the other measures that Fugro have adopted to reduce the environmental impact and encourage a healthier and more environmentally aware workforce.
